Where to buy Italian Property
Italy is a beautiful country with many stunning regions and cities, Florence, Siena, Cortona, Todi, Radda and Montepulciano, Isle of Capri, Portofino, to name just a few. All these areas offer something different and before committing to to purchase an Italian property, one should carefully consider its location. What do you want from your luxury Italian property? How long will you be staying for in any one year? Is it close to restaurants and shops? If you need to get to a hospital how long will it take? Where is the nearest airport and does it have flights to where you need to go? Is the train station regional or could one get a train to Rome or Milan on the national circuit? Here is a list which we believe will help you in your search for your Italian property and if not, might at least focus your mind:
- How far do I want to travel from the airport?
- Will I need a 4x4 to get to the property?
- Can I get to the house in the winter?
- Is the area known for natural disasters or flooding?
- How much land do I really want?
- How big do I really need my Italian property?
- How much refurbishment work am I happy to do?
- Is a swimming pool a must?
- Will my wife be happy on her own?
- Are my kids safe?
- Is there something for my teenage children to do?
If you are planning to purchase an Italian property purely as a holiday home in Italy, your requirements and facilities needed might be different from someone who wants to emigrate to Italy. For example, How far away is the local school, does your intended abode have a telephone and most importantly an internet connection.You will be very surprised but in parts of Italy, even in the 21st century, getting an internet connection can be very difficult. We would recommend all buyers of Italian properties or for that matter anybody purchasing property in another territory to spend time researching the area you want to buy in.
